Periode alternative
Olladay vs Periode.
Periode is a Norwegian sauna booking system, strongest with unstaffed cabins. It charges a percentage of every booking with card processing included: 3.5% + €0.25 on a debit card in Ireland. Olladay is free for you, with a €0.49 booking fee per place shown in your price, or you pay 1% plus Stripe’s card fee, and the money lands in your own Stripe account. At Periode’s published rates, Olladay costs you less per booking on either plan.

What one €15 place costs you
Periode includes card processing in its rate, so these figures add Stripe’s published fee to Olladay. Stripe’s “premium” and Periode’s “credit” cards aren’t defined the same way, so treat that row as a close match.
| Card | Periode | Olladay, you pay 1% | Olladay, founding 0.5% | Olladay, Free for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Debit and standard cards | €0.78 | €0.63 | €0.55 | €0.48 + €0.49 from your guest |
| Credit and premium cards | €0.84 | €0.82 | €0.75 | €0.68 + €0.49 from your guest |
| Cards from abroad (non-Irish cards) | €1.04 | €0.87 | €0.80 | €0.74 + €0.49 from your guest |

A month, with and without Pro
| Month | Periode | Olladay, Free for you | Olladay, you pay 1% | Olladay Pro + 1% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200 places (€3,000) | €155.00 | €96.47 | €125.00 | €164.00 |
| 600 places (€9,000) | €465.00 | €289.41 | €375.00 | €414.00 |
| 1,500 places (€22,500) | €1,162.50 | €723.53 | €937.50 | €976.50 |
Pro changes the sums for a small venue. At 200 places a month, Pro plus the 1% rate costs €164.00 against Periode’s €155.00. Pro pays its way when door codes and heater control save you a staffed shift or two a month. If they won’t, stay on the free plan.
Where Olladay fits better
- Your money in your own account. Payments go to your own Stripe account, new or existing, and you can see every payout there.
- A lower published rate. 1% plus Stripe’s fee, or nothing at all on Free for you.
- Mainstream lock hardware. With Pro, locks connect through Seam or igloohome, and heaters through HUUM or Shelly.
- The back office. A staff rota with clock-in is free, and Pro sends each day’s takings to Xero or QuickBooks.
- Visitors. With Pro, sell the same timetable on Viator and GetYourGuide once each partner approves the connection.
Where Periode may suit you better
- You already run Inlet or Lokalkontoret locks and want bookings, door access and pre-heating from one supplier.
- You want one rate with card processing included and no Stripe account of your own to look after.
- You want a branded app or a franchise set-up. Periode describes a branded app on request and fee splits for franchises.
- You want a track record. Periode says it serves more than 250 businesses. Olladay is new and has no public reviews yet.
- You take a lot online. Periode lowers its rate as volume grows, so a large venue should ask it for a quote.
Moving from Periode
- Export your customers and upcoming bookings from Periode.
- Sign in to Olladay and set up your sessions, prices and terms, or send us your timetable and we’ll do it.
- Import customers, pack balances and bookings from the export, check the preview, and undo it if anything looks wrong.
- Ask members to add their card once on Olladay. They carry on with a free period until their next payment date.
- Run both side by side, then swap your booking link.

Questions
Periode or Olladay: questions.
Is Olladay cheaper than Periode?
At Periode’s published Irish rates, yes, on every booking. Periode charges 3.5% + €0.25 on a debit card, with card processing included. Olladay at 1% plus Stripe’s 1.5% + €0.25 comes to 2.5% + €0.25, and on Free for you you pay only Stripe’s fee while your guests pay €0.49 a place. Periode says its percentage falls as your volume grows, so ask it for a quote. Adding Olladay Pro (€39 a month) can make a small venue’s month dearer than Periode.
Does Olladay work with my smart lock?
With Olladay Pro, locks connect through Seam, which covers many Nuki, Yale and TTLock models, or directly through igloohome. Each booking gets its own code around its time; igloohome codes run on whole hours and can’t be withdrawn early. Olladay doesn’t connect to Inlet or Lokalkontoret locks, which Periode uses.
Can I move from Periode to Olladay?
Yes. Export your customers and bookings from Periode and import them into Olladay, checking every row before it goes live. Because Periode takes your payments, members who pay by card will need to enter their card again on Olladay; they move across with a free period until their next payment date, so nobody is charged twice.
Who holds the money?
On Olladay, payments go straight into your own Stripe account and Stripe pays you out. Periode’s rate includes card processing and banking fees, so payments run through Periode (Periode pricing).
