Terms for people booking

What applies when you book a session or buy a pass, membership or gift voucher through a venue’s Olladay booking page.

These terms were last updated .

1. About these terms

Olladay is operated by Donncha O Toole, trading as Olladay, of Bellevue House, Bellevue Demesne, Delgany, Co. Wicklow, Ireland (“Olladay”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@olladay.com.

These terms apply when you book or buy through a booking page powered by Olladay, whether on app.olladay.com, a venue’s own web address or a venue’s website. Please read them with the venue’s own terms and cancellation policy, which are shown before you pay.

2. Your contract is with the venue

The venue (the business named on the booking page) is the seller. It provides the session, pass, membership, gift voucher or extra you buy, and it sets the prices, times, places, rules and cancellation policy. Your contract for it is with the venue, and the venue is responsible for providing it, for its premises and for your safety there.

Olladay provides the booking software the venue uses. Olladay is not the provider of the session.

3. Prices and the booking fee

Every price shown for an online booking is the total you pay. Some venues pay Olladay themselves, and then there is no booking fee. Other venues ask customers to pay a booking fee of €0.49 per person (£0.45 at venues that sell in sterling) on each paid online booking. When there is one, it is shown as part of every price, for example “€20.49 incl. €0.49 booking fee”, and it is never added at the end of checkout.

The booking fee is Olladay’s charge for the booking service. It is the same for every payment method; it is not a card surcharge. It is collected with your payment and passed to Olladay. There is no booking fee on free bookings, on bookings paid in full with a pass, membership, gift voucher or account credit, or on passes, memberships and gift vouchers themselves.

4. Paying and your booking

Payments are taken by Stripe for the venue, and paid to the venue’s own Stripe account. Your card details go to Stripe; neither Olladay nor the venue sees your full card number. While you pay, your places are held for a short time. Your booking is confirmed only when your payment succeeds, and we email you a confirmation with a link to manage your booking. Keep that link private, because anyone with it can manage the booking.

5. Cancellations, changes and refunds

Cancellations, changes and refunds follow the venue’s cancellation policy, which is shown on the booking page before you pay and in your confirmation email. Where the venue allows it, you can cancel or move your booking from the link in your confirmation email. Otherwise, contact the venue.

  • A full refund, including when the venue cancels, returns the whole amount you paid, including any booking fee.
  • If you cancel under a policy that keeps a cancellation fee, or you take account credit instead of a refund, the booking fee isn’t refunded. A part refund comes out of the venue’s price.
  • If the venue cancels a session (for example for weather or low numbers), it may offer you a refund, a move to another time or account credit. If you would rather have your money back, ask the venue. Your legal right to a refund for a service that isn’t provided is not affected.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Banks usually take 5 to 10 working days to show them.

Cooling-off period. The usual 14-day right to cancel online purchases does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date or time, such as a sauna session or class. For passes, memberships and gift vouchers you may have a right to cancel under consumer law; the venue’s terms explain how.

Memberships that renew are charged automatically at each renewal until you cancel. You can cancel the renewal from the link in your receipt, and you keep the period you’ve already paid for.

6. Gift vouchers

A gift voucher is issued by the venue and can be used only with that venue. Gift vouchers bought online through Olladay are valid for 5 years from purchase, as Irish law requires for vouchers sold in Ireland, unless the venue gives a longer period. The venue is responsible for honouring vouchers it has sold. Keep the code safe: it works like cash, and anyone who has it can use it.

7. Health questions, waivers and safety

A venue may ask you to agree to its health and safety terms and answer health questions before you book or visit. Those terms and questions are the venue’s, not Olladay’s. Answer honestly, follow the venue’s safety instructions, and check with a doctor if you are unsure whether an activity is right for you. Venue terms do not take away rights you have by law, including where the venue is negligent.

8. Your information

The venue decides how your booking information is used, and Olladay handles it on the venue’s behalf to provide the booking service. Our privacy notice explains what we handle, who receives it and your rights. You can ask the venue or us about your information.

9. Using booking pages fairly

Please don’t use automated tools to book or hold places, make bookings you don’t intend to keep, or interfere with booking pages.

10. Your rights and our responsibility

Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in Ireland, the United Kingdom or elsewhere in Europe, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

Olladay provides the booking service with reasonable care and skill. Olladay is not responsible for the venue’s sessions, premises or products. If Olladay breaks these terms, it is responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result, but not for loss that was not foreseeable or for business losses. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

11. Problems and complaints

For anything about your session, contact the venue first: its contact details are on its booking page and in your confirmation email. For problems with the booking service or the booking fee, or if you can’t reach the venue, email hello@olladay.com.

12. Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland. You can bring a claim in the courts of Ireland or of the country where you live. We may update these terms; the version shown when you book applies to that booking. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
