0% commission booking software.

0% commission booking software for saunas in Ireland and the UK.

With 0% commission booking software your customers pay a small booking fee, usually 2%, and your business pays nothing to the booking platform. Here is what that really costs on a €20 session, who offers it, and what to check.

What 0% commission means

Most booking software is paid for by the business: a monthly plan, a percentage of every booking, or both. With 0% commission the business pays the platform nothing. The customer pays a small booking fee on each booking instead.

Card processing still costs something. A card payment in Ireland costs about 1.5% + €0.25 on a standard EEA card (Stripe pricing), and someone has to pay it. So “0% commission” means no fee to the platform, not a free card payment.

How Olladay does it

  • Your guests pay a 2% booking fee. It is in the first price they see, so a €20 session shows as €20.40 from your timetable to the payment page.
  • Your sauna pays 1.5% + €0.25 on a standard EEA card (1.5% + £0.20 on a standard UK card). That is the card processing cost, at Stripe’s standard rate. Olladay takes no commission from you.
  • On a €20 session you receive €19.44. In the UK, on a £20 session you receive £19.49.
  • No monthly fee, no setup fee and no contract. Every feature is included: sessions and private hire, passes and memberships, gift vouchers, storm closures and last-minute offers.
  • Prefer guests to pay exactly your price? Cover the whole fee yourself instead. You can switch at any time.

Is a customer booking fee allowed?

Yes, if it is shown up front. Two rules matter:

  • No card surcharges. In Ireland and the UK you can’t charge consumers extra for paying with most personal debit and credit cards. A booking fee that is the same whatever card they use is not a card surcharge.
  • No drip pricing. The fee has to be in the price from the start, not added at the last step. See the CCPC’s pricing guidance in Ireland and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 in the UK.

Olladay puts the 2% in every price a guest sees, so you don’t have to think about it.

Will customers mind?

On a €20 session the fee is €0.40. Because it is part of the price from the start, guests see one price, not a surprise at checkout. If your regulars are price-sensitive, you can cover the fee yourself instead.

What to check before you choose

  1. What does your business pay per booking, card processing included?
  2. Is the customer’s fee in the first price they see?
  3. Do premium, business or foreign cards cost you more? On Olladay they do: up to 3.15% + €0.25 for cards from outside the EEA and UK.
  4. Are there other fees? On Olladay, an eligible new guest’s first booking from the Olladay sauna directory costs 16.5% + €0.25 in total, and the guest pays no booking fee on it. Texts are optional and charged per text.
  5. Can you leave and take your customers with you, free?

Questions

Is there 0% commission booking software in Ireland?

Yes. Olladay, Wunderbook and bookedout.ie take no commission from the business on ordinary bookings; the customer pays a 2% booking fee instead. On Olladay your sauna pays only card processing: 1.5% + €0.25 on a standard EEA card, the same as Stripe’s published rate.

Which sauna booking software lets the customer pay the booking fee?

Olladay, Wunderbook and bookedout.ie all have customers pay a 2% booking fee. On Olladay it is in the first price a guest sees, so nothing is added at checkout, and you can switch to covering it yourself at any time.

Is 0% commission booking software really free?

For the business, nearly. Someone always pays for card processing. On Olladay your sauna pays 1.5% + €0.25 on a standard EEA card (1.5% + £0.20 on a standard UK card), which is what the card network and Stripe cost. Premium and non-EEA cards cost more, and an eligible new guest’s first booking from the Olladay sauna directory carries a finder’s fee.

Is it legal to charge customers a booking fee in Ireland and the UK?

Yes, if it is shown up front and is the same whatever card is used. A surcharge for paying by card is banned on most consumer cards, and a fee that first appears at the last step of checkout is drip pricing, which consumer law in Ireland and the UK treats as misleading.
